The Dick and Joan Green Family Award for Tasmanian History is established to commemorate the contribution of Dick and Joan Green to Tasmanian culture and history. The award recognises high quality published work that makes a significant contribution to an understanding of Tasmania’s past and seeks to celebrate and promote books on Tasmanian history and cultural heritage, including biographies.
The Dick and Joan Green Family Award will honour the achievement of authors researching Tasmanian history and cultural heritage and contribute to the knowledge of and interest in Tasmanian history and cultural heritage and draw national attention to the achievements of authors on Tasmanian history and cultural heritage. The Award will be offered biennially, with prize money of $25,000.
The award is open to all authors who publish books of original research on Tasmanian history, including cultural heritage. Full eligibility requirements and downloadable Nomination Form are available on the Scholarships and Prizes page of the University of Tasmania website.Entries open on 1 July 2025 and close on 31 October 2025.
Payment of $75.00 is required for each nomination.
